An assessment may proceed when
- One complete arch needs replacement
- Remaining teeth have a documented prognosis
- Bone permits useful implant distribution
- Health allows surgery and healing
- The patient accepts hygiene, review and repair needs
Six-implant full-arch assessment in West Delhi
All-on-6 describes a fixed full-arch restoration supported by six planned implants. At Dr. Kathuria’s Dental Specialties, Dr. Eisha Kathuria assesses whether six implants suit the available bone, intended bridge, bite and maintenance plan.
A larger implant number is not automatically a better plan. Distribution, anatomy, restorative space and the consequences of implant loss must be considered.
Same-day consultations may be available; call to confirm. Monday–Saturday, 9:30 am–8:00 pm.

01 · Quick answer
An All-on-6 restoration uses six implants to support one connected arch of fixed replacement teeth. It may provide a different support distribution from four-implant designs, but suitability depends on safe implant positions, bone, bite, prosthesis design and hygiene. Six implants do not guarantee immediate teeth, freedom from grafting or complication-free treatment.
In brief: suitability and design require individual examination.
02 · Overview
“All” refers to the replacement teeth across one complete arch. “6” refers to the planned supporting implants. The bridge remains fixed for the patient and is removed by the dental team when clinically necessary.
All-on-6 is a restorative configuration rather than a diagnosis. A patient may instead need preservation of suitable teeth, a different number of implants, an overdenture or a conventional complete denture.
03 · Suitability
The concept may be considered for a toothless arch or when remaining teeth cannot be maintained predictably. The proposed positions must be anatomically safe and restorable.
Clinical note: this list supports discussion; it does not diagnose suitability.
04 · Compare choices
A fixed bridge may use another evidence-based implant arrangement, including an All-on-4 design. Removable implant overdentures and conventional dentures have different surgical, cleaning and repair requirements. Suitable natural teeth may sometimes be retained.
Second opinion
A second opinion can test that claim against the proposed positions, bone, bridge length, bite and what would happen if one implant could not be used.
05 · Treatment designs
The implant count is only one design variable. Loading time, provisional teeth, grafting and the definitive bridge remain individual decisions.
Option 1
A temporary fixed bridge may be connected early only when stability, bone, bite and the complete loading plan permit.
Option 2
A removable provisional may be used while implants heal when early loading would add avoidable risk.
Option 3
A different implant number, position, grafting approach or removable restoration may better fit the anatomy and cleaning needs.
06 · Consultation
Bring existing dentures, imaging, medicine information and any previous plan. The assessment should explain why six implants are proposed.
Eating, appearance, comfort and expectations are discussed.
Teeth, gums, smile, jaw relationship and restorative space are assessed.
Appropriate imaging evaluates bone and nearby anatomy.
Six implants are compared with other fixed and removable designs.
Extractions, surgery, provisional teeth, healing and the final bridge are mapped.
07 · Process
Tooth position, facial support, speech, bite and cleaning access define the restorative goal.
Bone and anatomy guide implant distribution; each implant needs a useful prosthetic position.
Disease is controlled and non-restorable teeth may be removed according to the plan.
Implants are placed and stability is assessed before any early-loading decision.
Provisional teeth protect healing; the definitive bridge and continuing hygiene programme follow.
08 · Recovery
The number of surgical sites, extractions, grafting and health affect recovery. The treating team’s written instructions take priority.
Swelling, tenderness, bruising and minor bleeding can occur. Follow medicine, food and hygiene advice.
Temporary teeth have loading limits even when they are fixed.
Implants, tissues, bite and bridge fit are reviewed while integration progresses.
Daily cleaning beneath the bridge and professional maintenance remain necessary.
Contact the clinic promptly for worsening swelling, persistent bleeding, fever, spreading pain, altered sensation or a loose restoration. Seek urgent medical care for breathing or swallowing difficulty.
09 · Informed consent
Six implants and the bridge can experience biological or mechanical complications. Maintenance and repair should be expected over time.
10 · Anatomy
Six useful implant positions require adequate bone and safe distances from anatomical structures. An implant placed where it cannot support or be cleaned around the bridge adds little value.
The upper and lower jaws differ in bone and anatomy. Implant spacing, angulation, bridge length and bite should be evaluated as one system rather than treating the number six as a target by itself.
11 · Clinical approach
Six implants are selected for anatomical and restorative reasons, not as a marketing upgrade.
The effect of losing a planned site or an implant is considered before surgery.
Four-implant, other fixed and removable options remain part of consent.
Cleaning access, bridge reviews, screws and repairs are anticipated.

14 · Common questions
All-on-6 describes six implants supporting a connected fixed replacement for the teeth of one complete arch.
Not automatically. Anatomy, distribution, prosthesis design, bite, hygiene and the consequences of implant loss matter more than the number alone.
A provisional bridge may be fitted early only when implant stability and the complete clinical situation satisfy the loading plan.
Not always. Six planned positions may require adequate bone in more areas, and grafting or another design may still be advised.
No. Six implants share support for a connected full-arch bridge rather than replacing six individual teeth.
The patient does not normally remove it. The dental team can remove the bridge for clinical access, maintenance or repair.
Cleaning is required beneath the bridge and around all implants with tools selected for the available spaces.
The effect depends on timing, position, remaining support and bridge design. The restoration may need modification while the plan is reassessed.
Takeaway: personal answers require examination, but these questions can help you prepare.
