Gum and supporting-tissue care in West Delhi
A periodontist focuses on gums, the bone supporting teeth and conditions that affect dental implants. Bleeding, swelling, recession, mobility or persistent bad breath can warrant periodontal assessment.
At Dr. Kathuria’s Dental Specialties, Dr. Eisha Kathuria assesses the restorative picture and coordinates periodontal input when gum or bone health affects treatment. The page does not claim that Dr. Eisha is a periodontist.
Same-day consultations may be available; call to confirm. Monday–Saturday, 9:30 am–8:00 pm.

01 · Quick answer
Periodontal care begins by measuring gum health, plaque and calculus, pocket depths, recession, mobility and bone support. Treatment may range from hygiene instruction and deep cleaning to surgical care in selected cases.
In brief: diagnosis and suitability require individual examination.
02 · Overview
Gingivitis affects the gums and can often improve when plaque and local factors are controlled. Periodontitis involves loss of the attachment and bone supporting teeth and requires diagnosis, risk control and ongoing maintenance.
Smoking or tobacco exposure, diabetes, plaque control, certain medicines and individual susceptibility can influence gum health. A personalised plan addresses modifiable factors without promising that lost support can always be restored.
03 · Assessment
Symptoms and needs can overlap with other dental conditions. A focused assessment helps define the correct pathway.
Clinical note: this list supports discussion; it does not establish a diagnosis.
04 · Compare choices
Routine cleaning addresses deposits in a generally healthy mouth. Scaling and root planing treats deeper deposits and inflamed pockets. Surgery or regenerative procedures are considered only when diagnosis and anatomy support them.
Second opinion
Bring available records and questions so the diagnosis, alternatives, sequence and maintenance needs can be reviewed.
05 · Care pathways
The appropriate pathway follows the diagnosis, clinical complexity and condition of the supporting tissues.
Control deposits, inflammation and risk factors.
Improve access or manage selected defects when indicated.
Monitor pockets, plaque, bleeding and supporting tissues over time.
06 · Consultation
Bring medicine details, relevant dental records and a clear account of symptoms or previous treatment.
Review symptoms, health and priorities.
Assess teeth, gums, bite and relevant tissues.
Use imaging or scans when clinically indicated.
Compare benefits, limits and alternatives.
Agree sequence and maintenance.
07 · Process
Discuss symptoms, tobacco, diabetes, medicines and history.
Measure pockets, recession, bleeding and mobility.
Use radiographs when indicated to evaluate bone levels.
Prioritise hygiene, non-surgical care and review before escalation.
08 · Aftercare
Follow the instructions provided for the specific diagnosis and procedure. Recovery and maintenance needs differ by patient.
Use the brush and interdental method demonstrated.
Temporary tenderness or sensitivity can occur.
Address tobacco exposure and relevant health factors.
Return at the interval recommended for the diagnosed risk.
Contact the clinic promptly for worsening swelling, persistent bleeding, fever, spreading pain, altered sensation or a loose restoration. Seek urgent medical care for breathing or swallowing difficulty.
09 · Informed care
Benefits, limitations and alternatives depend on the diagnosis and chosen care.
10 · Planning
Crowns, bridges, implants and dentures all depend on cleanable, stable supporting tissues. Restorative margins and contacts must allow home care rather than trap plaque.
Periodontal findings may change the timing or design of planned prosthodontic treatment.
11 · Clinical approach
Gum findings are recorded rather than judged by appearance alone.
Daily plaque control and health factors form part of care.
Initial therapy is assessed before more treatment is chosen.
Gum stability and restorative design are planned together.

12 · Your dentist
Dr. Eisha Kathuria is a prosthodontist, not a periodontist. She evaluates how gum support affects restorability and coordinates periodontal care before crowns, bridges, implants or extensive rehabilitation.
13 · The clinic
The Tagore Garden clinic provides gum assessment, non-surgical treatment pathways and maintenance planning, with discipline-specific coordination when required.

14 · Common questions
Regular bleeding is not considered healthy. Plaque-related inflammation is common, but an assessment should identify the cause and severity.
Yes. Advanced loss of supporting tissue can cause mobility, but bite forces, trauma and other conditions may also contribute.
Comfort measures are selected according to the areas treated and inflammation present. Tenderness or sensitivity may occur for a short period afterwards.
Some selected defects may respond to regenerative procedures, but predictable regeneration is not possible in every site.
The interval depends on diagnosis, disease control, plaque levels, smoking, diabetes and previous response.
Implants can develop inflammatory conditions in the surrounding tissues. Bleeding, swelling, discomfort or bone loss needs professional assessment.
